A sweeping work for solo trombone and retro video game consoles, also featuring an actual video game as accompaniment for the performance. There is also an accompanying video, if you don’t want to set up the game; or just an audio backing track if the performer does not have access to a screen.

Inspired by 8-bit video games, Arcadia Trombonica tells the story of a young trombone player who seeks to save her land by retrieving the only item that seal away the evil Dark Emperor: The Trombone of Ages. It’s a musical journey through a forest, cave, waterfall, the sky, then eventually into a dark castle; but even more than that, it’s about nostalgia, adventure, confronting one’s fear and becoming the person they were always meant to be.
